1's: Do not cancel successes. However, if no successes are rolled, any 1's on the dice rolled indicates a botch. The number of 1's rolled indicates the severity of the botch.
10's: Count as 2 successes if you have an appropriate specialty.
Difficulties may not be reduced by modifiers below difficulty 2. A 1 is always a failure.
Difficulties may not be increased by modifiers above a 10. Each additional +1 difficulty above 10 reduces the number of successes scored on the dice roll by 1.
What are the effects of this house rule: Botches will be more infrequent, especially with larger dice pools. Larger dice pools will have a greater advantage over smaller dice pools because more successes will be generated at the same level of difficulty. This makes conflicts between characters of different levels of ability more likely to result in victory for the better character.
