The actual appearance of a vampire is based on their humanity rating. The lower their humanity the more monstrously vampiric they appear.
Vampires of Humanity 8 or higher appear almost perfectly Mortal.
Vampires of Humanity 7 look slightly pale, and slightly cool to the touch, but other than that they can almost pull off being mortal.
Vampires of Humanity 5-6 are visibly off. Mortals are uneasy in their presence even though they may not be able to tell by looking that the pale, dead-eyed creature sitting on the bus with them is a fiend of the night.
Vampires of Humanity 4 are pallid and corpselike. Their eyes are slightly discolored. They are not terrifying yet, but mortals will know there is something wrong with them.
Vampires of Humanity 3-2 look like vampires. The walking dead. Pale, unearthly, with red-tinted dead eyes and predatorial mannerisms.
Vampires of Humanity 1-0 can no longer hide their nature. Even the most unobservant mortal will know that the creature with them is not normal. You may or may not be beautiful, but you are a corrupt, pale, and unholy vampire for all to see.
Vampires on Paths of Enlightenment that uses one alternate virtue counts as 1 lower for the purposes of appearance. And if their path uses two alternate virtues, it counts as 2 lower. Furthermore, vampires on Paths of Enlightenment may never spend blood to simulate the appearance of life.
